Rutaceae Essential Oil

Rutaceae plants include shrubs or trees, with a minority being herbaceous.

Morphological Features:

Leaves are primarily compound (pinnately or palmately), but some species have simple leaves. All leaves have oil glands and are arranged either opposite or alternate.

The flowers are bisexual, with 4-5 sepals and 4-5 petals. The stamens range from 8 to 10 and are usually opposite the petals.

The fruit types include capsules, drupes, or hesperidia (modified berries, as seen in citrus fruits).

Distribution Range:

The Rutaceae family comprises approximately 160 genera with over 1700 species. These plants are widely distributed across tropical to temperate regions worldwide.
